La Vista Bistro - Stamford

The best restaurant in Stamford! My spouse and I had a wonderful experience.

We never got to dine there. We were looking forward to it but when we walked into the main entrance, we alerted the bartender that we had a reservation for four people. She seemed surprised and ran out of the room to check on something we assumed. While waiting we realized that the room was stifling hot and the AC was not on despite it being 96 degrees outside. The door was open but the heat inside was oppressive. She came back tried to seat us at one of the tables in that room I explained we would not sit in there as it was too hot. She explained there was a large party in the dining room. I said it was too hot, she offered to seat us outside but again, it was 96 degrees outside. I asked about the AC she said it wasn’t working. So we left had dinner elsewhere. The place has great food but if you have a reservation booked and your dining room is not available for your dinner guests but your other room doesn’t have AC, why not reach out to your reservation and give them a heads up about the situation?

The birthday celebration couldn't have been more perfect. The food was not only delicious but also generous in portions. One member of our group of eight had to leave early, and the staff promptly had their meal ready to go. This place is one of our favorites. A special thank you to Anthony and Jason for making the evening truly memorable!

We went there on a Friday evening. We sat in the front bar area. We were immediately seated and greeted. The eggplant rollantini was delicious. We each had a pasta dish. Shrimp over cavtelli and the pappardelle with pancetta and broccoli rabe. We thought they were both very tasty and pleasurable. We split the almond cake dessert and it was good too. The wait staff and management were awesome. Jason was our server and Ram stopped by our table a few times to make sure everything was ok. We were also delighted that we could actually have a conversation without shouting or asking each other to repeat what we said and no we are not old. I would recommend this restaurant as a hidden gem.

Excellent food, extensive menu, service was great. This is a fantastic “who knew” find. Used to go here years ago when it was Jimmy’s. Now it’s a wonderful mostly Italian restaurant with some great additional non-Italian choices. Easy parking. This will be our new Stamford go-to!
