Sorrento Pizzeria - Stamford

The pie at this restaurant has a good flavor and the service is excellent. However, the pie crust is thicker than what we usually like, but that is just a personal preference. Overall, we enjoyed the nice flavor of the pie.

We have passed by this restaurant multiple times without ever considering ordering pizza from there. We are pizza lovers always searching for great pizza places. One day, we were craving pizza but wanted to try a new spot, so we checked Google Reviews for the highest rated pizza restaurants in Stamford. Sorrento's had good ratings and positive comments, so we decided to give it a shot. We planned on getting pepperoni, but then we saw their Mike's Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza and knew we had to try it. We ended up ordering a large Mike's hot honey pepperoni pizza and fried calamari. One issue we faced was that their website menu did not have prices listed, which is becoming a common trend. As a customer, I prefer to know the prices before ordering. The pizza cost $22 and the calamari added up to $42. We were surprised by the high price of the calamari, but we still went through with the order. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and mentioned they were out of menus. When we got home and opened the calamari, we found that the container lacked ventilation and seemed a bit lacking in quantity. The calamari were not as crunchy as we would have liked, so we crisped them up in the air fryer. However, the taste was good, and we especially enjoyed dipping them in the delicious marinara sauce.

The calamari portion felt a bit small for the price, but we enjoyed the taste and especially liked the marinara sauce. As for the pizza, it was delicious with a tasty sauce and a subtle hint of honey. While we may not order the hot honey pizza again, we would definitely consider trying other items on their menu. We recommend asking them to vent the calamari container before taking it home. Overall, we had a positive experience at Sorrento and would consider ordering from them again in the future.

I have been dining at this fantastic restaurant since it opened more than 20 years ago! The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the owners treat us like family. I miss not being able to visit when they are closed, as I often go with friends and family. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience!
