The sushi I had here was the freshest I've ever tasted.
**Food:** I ordered Plum wine, Agedashi tofu, Salmon and tuna sushi a la carte, Beef Pad Ke Mao, and Deep-fried green tea ice cream. **Plum Wine:** The initial sip of the plum wine was decent, with sweet plum notes, but it left a slightly sour aftertaste. **Agedashi Tofu:** The broth for the Agedashi tofu was impressive—fragrant, flavorful, and rich in umami. The tofu was soft, lightly seasoned, and had a delightful crispy exterior. While I enjoyed the appetizer, I think it would have benefited from some grated daikon on top and a bit more broth. **Salmon and Tuna Sushi:** Both the salmon and tuna were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and meltingly tender. However, the rice didn't hold up well; it tasted a bit stale and dry. **Beef Pad Ke Mao:** I ordered this dish after the sushi, but it surprisingly arrived about two minutes before the sushi did. While quick service can be impressive, this felt a bit too fast. The dish was underwhelming: the noodles were overcooked and clumped together, and the sauce lacked excitement. Although the beef was tender, it was also quite chewy—some pieces were a bit undercooked. Additionally, some noodles were served cold while others were hot, as was the beef. **Deep-Fried Green Tea Ice Cream:** What’s not to love about ice cream deep-fried in a light tempura batter? I wish they had let it fry a bit longer to melt the inside a bit more and allow the batter to cook fully. **Service:** There were just me and two other guests in the restaurant. The waitress was a little slow because she seemed distracted by what was playing on the TV. I wasn't offered water when I was seated or when I ordered, though the other guests did receive water. While my food arrived quickly, the timing of the Pad Ke Mao made me wonder if it had been reheated from another table. **Decor:** The restaurant was well-lit and had a cozy atmosphere, though it wasn't fancy. The bathroom was clean and had a pleasant smell, but the flashing lights were giving me a headache. **Price:** I felt that some dishes were slightly overpriced for the quality offered. Overall, I would rate this place 3 out of 5. If I return, it would primarily be for the Agedashi Tofu and the Salmon Sushi.
The food remains some of the best in Staten Island's North Shore neighborhood! The service is always quick, and the delicious dishes are well worth any wait. The ambiance is well-lit and creates a great vibe. I’ll definitely keep coming back, and this is a spot you shouldn’t miss when you’re craving sushi!
The staff is friendly and the restaurant is well-kept! The food is excellent, and it's always my top choice whenever I'm in the area.
