I will start with the positive since I don't like giving bad reviews. The service was great. I confess I haven't been to a cracker barrel in a few years but wow has this place gone down hill. Portion sizes were absolutely paltry. I had biscuits and gravy which included three of the smallest, most tasteless biscuits I've ever seen or had. Honestly I could have gone to McDonald's and paid half and got biscuits three times the size. My wife had chicken French toast which apparently is made with regular sandwich bread these days and came with two of the thinnest, smallest most overcooked pieces of fried rubber one could imagine. No more huge fluffy goodness of the past I guess. Overall I would compare the food quality to a waffle house but with smaller portion sizes. Won't be back. Just save your money folks, cracker barrel is on the way out of business.
The hostess was busy having a personal conversation and we stood listening, waiting to be acknowledged for several minutes. (That made me upset I was a hostess for years and know you do not ignore the customer. then as she finally asked how many she showed her displeasure with us interrupting her job she lead us to table. She did not smile, say hello, sorry for the wait-nothing. Our waitress wasn 't very pleasurable at first either. It was like we were not cared about at all. But I will say as we were nice to her she smiled, came back several times to check etc. As we were leaving we were pleased to see a nice smile on her sweet face. Food was excellent. Hot, plenty and tasty. Silverware dirty... I will say that the past two months I have come to this restaurant it has not been up to my expectations of Cracker Barrel. I truly think the staff needs a redo of manners, how to interact with the public and remember that we the public coming into this establishment expect a pleasant experience with their meal. We pay a nice price plus tips for a nice meal. If I want not to enjoy dining out I would go get fast food at a drive thru. I do not except the excuse of covid causing problems yesterday. There were many on staff to serve and I saw other tables getting great service from an older waitress. I may give this cracker barrel one more chance. But if the attitudes of yesterday and last month and the month before show its ugly side I will quit going here and recommend to my friends not to go. That 's how disappointed I am. I have been a waitress, a hostess and worked in several types of restaurants in over 40 years. An upset customer. . .
Everytime I’ve come here there is an issue whether it’s my wait staff or to go orders. Last time I went took 20 min to get syrup for pancakes that were then cold as well as the rest of our order. Today, 2 BLT chicken sandwiches ordered. No bacon, no honey glaze on it which we requested extra of… can’t blame short wait staff for them not to get a bacon lettuce tomato chicken sandwich correct. Thanks for ruining the lunch coworkers and myself really appreciate it!
Sad, worst cracker barrel experience ever. Service was very slow, and our food was cold when we got it. We had three children with us and after waiting a good amount of time did not want to wait to get the food hot. I asked to see the manager, and he graciously discounted our bill. We do understand that everyone is short-staffed right now, but we could have been given a heads up. As well as been served hot food. There is nothing on the breakfast menu that I choose to eat cold. Particularly eggs.
