Ol' Bob's Bbq Catering - Statesville

The grill at this restaurant is good, and they serve freshly made hush puppies and fries. It can get a bit crowded during lunchtime, but they are able to get the food out in a timely manner. Today, I wanted to try the Flounder fillet sandwich. I asked the waiter if it was a real piece of fish or a processed one, and was assured that it was indeed a real piece of fish. However, I was disappointed to find out that it was actually a processed, chopped and formed fish patty, not a true Flounder fillet. I felt misled and would have preferred to have gone to a local fish house for a more authentic fish sandwich. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience and don't appreciate being lied to. It seems like they may not fully understand what a real fish is.

The BBQ portions are large, and the hush puppies are disappointing. The house BBQ sauce is not tasty, so I usually order to-go and add my own sauce at home.

On the way. I was looking for a barbecue on a weekday. apparently this is hard to find in nc. most were closed, but the old bob was not. I had bbq tablet. disappointed in the presentation. the whole food was literally in a french frittier floor. the vinegar was good, and bbq was okay. the BBQ sauce is not on the table. it was a strange cross of the vinegar sweet sauce. I usually like nc BBQ sauce, but that was not what I used earlier. they were good enough to give me a cup of wing sauce (honey bbq) which was good. hushpuppies were good. husband had ripened, and they were good, but this strange sauce had again on it. he scratched it. the staff was not excessively friendly, but they were young. I wanted to use the bathroom, and apparently the lonely male hired that we saw at this place was in there. I was told I would probably want to wait until the men's room opens. No, thank you. I had great hopes, but was a little disappointed. I will probably not be back if I ever find myself in the opposite. if they want many BBQ options, they will eat early.

I'm not much for an evaluation, but. 1) the dining room was disgusting, there were spots of spilled drinks and eating. everything was sticky on the table and the huge sauce squeeze bottles looked like they had no good cleaning since opening. some had adhesive tape to put the top to hold it on the bottle. 2) the remaining space was not clearly marked. 3) the girl who took our order was very mad at the search. did not even sleep when we first arrived to place our order. 4) I ordered the number 6 (bbq tablet) and when they say tablet. that's exactly what they mean. they get all their food in a French hairdresser tablet. I had to use the food tablet so that my food didn't land over the table. 5) eating was okay. I didn't want to use the BBQ sauce on the table because they look unclean. but also ended because the bbq was so dry. I hope that changes will be implemented, we like to try the way when we travel. They are usually a hit. but this place was a miss.

We had a take out order and was immediately greeted when I walked in, the dining area was spotless. Employees are very friendly and professional, the food was amazing with large portions. Definitely will be coming back soon and will recommend it to anyone.
