One of the best fish restaurants I had! the fish soup was delicious, mussel as an appetizer was cooked with cocoss soup, and fish of the day was simply amazing-I even finished the whole besides! oh, btw, the brot loved also really! a must for stavanger!
We just tried a few fish sheds on our trip to norway, but I try to say that this is one of the best fish sheds that they can get in norway because it was just so much better than the others. the fish and the garnel was plentiful, fresh and perfectly cooked, the broth was incredibly delicious and beyond the presentation was beautiful. we also had some delicious main thing and also a delicious white wine, but the suppe was the highlight. the service was also amazing, very motivated and very well informed. we will be coming back
Make sure you book a table especially on Monday. There’re not many restaurants open on Monday in Stavanger so it’s easily full. Shellfish comes on every Wednesday and Friday mostly so these 2 are the best days to taste shellfish. We tried fish market in Bergen and personally I think snow crabs here taste better. For the same price, portion is larger here too. Lobsters are more meaty. Fish soup here has more veggies added making the taste quite distinct.
I ordered the fish soup and the fish cake. I wish I ordered a larger version of the suppe rather the appetizer portion. I didn't like the fish cake much when I found it too oily. this place is busy so book a reservation. when eating it was good, I thought the service was missing from the day I was there.
