Gådjå Etiopisk - Stavanger

Very satisfying food. The menu consists of different stews you eat with injera (Ethiopian flat bread). The vegan selection is very good, consisting of different stews, if you want to try all of them in a sampler they have that too! The portions are perfect for filling you up all the way without leaving you uncomfortable. The service is good, and the interior is very nice, featuring lots of different photos and objects displaying Ethiopian culture. Highly recommended!

I tried Ethiopian food for the very first time in Stavanger...and it was super yummy! I had heard the rumor that there is no silverwear, just a pancake you use to eat everything with your hands, but they were kind and gave us all a fork. The pancake was so spongy and not at all dry. The different lentils, beans, and meats were all yummy in their own way with nice spices, but nothing was too spicy. I had the #12 which is a little bit of all the meats and veggies and I can highly recommend it. They bring a side of this spicy chicken with a cooked egg and that was my favorite, but everything was good. Order the Chilean chardonnay to drink, it compliments it very well. However, if you are in Stavanger and looking for a budget friendly place with great food, I can highly recommend this place!

I was visiting friends in Stavanger in February and went here for dinner one evening. Excellent cuisine. The spicy food warms you up on an otherwise chilly winter day. Nothing to complain about except that it was impossible to sample everything on the menu. That means we just have to return.
