Cafe Diva - Steamboat Springs

Chef Kate is truly remarkable. I discovered this restaurant a year and a half ago, and now I can't imagine going to Steamboat without dining here. We've tried dishes from every seasonal menu, and it’s a rare place where I feel comfortable experimenting with foods I usually wouldn't choose. I've never had a meal here that was even slightly mediocre; everything is consistently exceptional—from the salads and the signature tomato crab bisque to the main courses and desserts. They also boast an impressive wine list and a fantastic selection of scotches for enthusiasts. The strawberry shortcake is the best I've ever had—sorry, Mom! Whether you’re a meat lover, a seafood enthusiast, or a vegetarian, there’s something here to please every palate. The service is always excellent as well. I've noticed that Chef Kate enjoys incorporating fennel into her dishes. I used to shy away from it because of its onion-like flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised by two different dishes featuring fennel from different seasons—they were both amazing. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!
