My German mother and grandmother were wicked bakers and cooks but this cake was also a real gem. Waiter was good with English and quite humorous with the children..we simply could not eat all the cake and ice cream we were served !
Great location right in the center of town! In full view of the painted houses and Rathaus. You can people watch, gaze at the houses and rest your feet. Great waitstaff fast and friendly. Great coffee and cold beer. Downside is the lady behind the cake counter (not really a people person good thing the gentleman beside her was nice) and the chocolate cake is a bit dry.
The shop have the good location. Good environment, and the good service on the coffee and cake. Also, we order the beef hamburger. It’s very nice. We Enjoy the foods. And have the relax time here. Also, I’d like to commend the fruit tart. It looks very nice too. Maybe, next time we will come to choose.
There are not so many alternatives for breakfast and meal in the center of the town. This shop is one of the two as I noticed. There are many bakery alternatives in the shop that you can try but as I recognized most of them are not produced in house. We ate kish and it was not fresh in the morning. Coffee was okay however not extremely good. I guess it can be more better in the spring or summer to sit outside. The did not accept credit card and I had to pay in cash. Since there were no CHF with me, I had to pay in € and they did not consider the rate on the receipt. They charged the same cost in CHF although I paid €
We were cycling the South Black Forest trail and we stopped in this place for a mid-morning coffee and a warm up. It was a rainy day, we were quiet wet and we needed a bit of comfort. The coffee was fine (at least hot! , the pastries were tasty and the people were friendly so we had a chat with the server. This place of the trail crosses Germany and Switzerland several times so we did not know where we were and which currency to use (but they accept any so no problem
