I think that was the best meal we had in our three days in Rothenburg. It was the 10 minutes drive from the city to experience a beautiful local inn with very friendly and helpful owners. All meals and drinks were cooked for perfection and the atmosphere was very nice.

We got a tip from a local in Rothenburg whether the pigeon that their favorite restaurant was actually in Bettwar, a few miles outside the city. It was worth the 10 minutes drive. Traditional Bavarian interior and a beautiful dining area on the terrace with beautiful views. Food was great and we were glad we left.

We stopped for lunch and were very happy with food. Great service and a beautiful country feel comfortable that you are looking for in land restaurants in Germany. Since it's only 5 kms from Rothenburg, it would be worth avoiding the tourist mobe and beating here for lunch what we actually did.
