I advise everyone to try this restaurant, which is more than wonderful, but I was hoping that attention would be paid to the cleanliness of the place and care in the interior decoration, and the cleanliness of the bathroom.
Nothing but excellent things to say about the food it’s truly amazing and the young man working the counter even offered me iced lemon water while I waited. The only negative which reeeeaaaalllly grinned my gears was this older lady really had the nerve to snatch back the food and ask me if I paid , I had a lot to say but I chose not to. So if your white or arab I’m sure this is a 9/10 establishment cause if your brown this might not be cause I was definitely lighter then the majority of the people working but they just saw a black man. ?
So much blood inside the chicken and we asked them they said it is baby chicken and the manager was so mean
Clean area, fast and friendly service. Good food. Recommend for a low key spot.
This was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I have ever had where the owner was openly racist to my mother due to his own poor management skills and lack of organization.I placed an online order at 2:17 PM and when we went to go pick up the order at 3:00 (email receipt said food would be ready by 2:52), the owner said I never placed the order. Then he went back on his words, and said that I just placed the order. That was not correct and when my mother began telling him that we had proof and confirmation that we placed and paid for the order at 2:17 PM he got agitated and yelled at one of his workers to come and explain it to them in Spanish while pointing at my mother. He made an assumption that we were Hispanic based on our skin color and that we could not speak English.I was born in the United States and we are both working professionals that are fluent in English. He at no point rescinded his statement or offered an apology. Instead, the owner doubled down and told us that next time we should place the order in advance and that they just needed 8 more minutes but next time it would be 20 . Again, I had hard evidence that I placed the order 45 minutes prior to coming in.We are both natives to Sterling that have lived and been part of this community for over 20 years. We have visited this location a hundred times but, management has taken a complete downturn. The new service is abhorrent and racially tinged and the food quality has likewise suffered tremendously. The Chicken Kabob, Lamb Kabob, Beef kofta and rice all lacked the flavors and seasoning from prior visits. This is no longer the Darya Kabob that once offered warmth and smiles to its customers but one that only serves to antagonize their long standing patrons.I will never revisit nor would I recommend this location to anyone, not even my worst enemy. To summarize:I placed an order 45 minutes in advance, got yelled at by the new owner, he made a racially insensitive comment then doubled down on it and was served mediocre (at best) food.Only come here if you enjoy getting verbally abused and being served sub par garbage.
