I asked for a not spicy suppe for my daughter, the service recommended a curry soup that was too spicy for my daughter, so that we did not end up. touching the suppe, such a drop. it was a random restaurant that we chose in the center of st. gallen, they believe it is better to have only one beer, but nothing more.
We wandered into Gentile on Day 1 of our ten day loop around Switzerland and every day we reflected back on how the food compared to the excellent offerings at Gentile. The Green Thia Curry Vegetable dish and Gentileburger are fantastic offerings from the kitchen...staff. We ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer and the portion so large we had cheese and bread for a lunch the following day. The fries are not included with the sandwich but worth the extra 6 SF. Make sure and ask for the house barbecue sauce, it is not to be missed. Our waiter was beyond attentive to our every need and went beyond our expectation several times by presenting us with our food in a way that he overheard us talk about it but not ask him to do. Had we stayed in St. Gallen, I can assure you we would have camped out at Gentile. Don't miss this fabulous restaurant.
This is a good place to try some Italian specialties. the pizza menu is extensive and they have other pasta elements from which they can choose.
Fair large coffee spot on one of the most important pedestrians at the edge of the old city. it is beautiful, spacious, comfortable with tables outside. a good place to stop for a drink or a coffee. they also serve food.
