Nice place for Afghani dishes. Nice portions and quantity.
Halal food.Went there for just to pickup plain rice. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helped out to decide.i didnt get a chance to dine in there but if I stay more in Montreal, I will definitely go there.By the way I needed only plain rice but she gave kabuli pulao topping as complimentary. thankful for that.
I tried Kaboly polo many times. It is very delicious.Highly recommended.
Authentic. This family owned restaurant is the kind of joint one travels great distances, and possibly crosses borders, to enjoy. It has an unassuming no frills exterior, like Mike Tyson arriving without entourage or a robe. However, upon entering through the front door, like Mike Tyson’s opponents, one is immediately transported to a happy place, in a far away land. The one-two punch of elegantly simple decor and the exotic Aromas wafting from the back, bring on dreams of the ancient East; but there is no time to sleep, as one is greeted by the staff whose reception is that of a proud and hospitable home owner welcoming a long anticipated guest.I tried the soup and Mantu for a light lunch, and had to return, with others, for dinner: The family “Kabul express” and “Afghani Rice”. Oh, my. Tender Lamb cutlet, filet mingon, beef cubes, chunks of tender chicken breast, succulent chicken thighs, and seasoned kabob. Every item cooked perfectly with care.Despite the portions being ample, the meal was light but filling. Even the fluffy rice didn’t feel heavy or laden with fat. A sign of quality. We really enjoyed this delicious meal and appreciated it’s careful execution and beautiful presentation.
