Feller Stillwater

Beautiful, wonderful restaurant. amazing steaks but my favorite was the chicken liver pate with very good roasted brot. the service was very good.

The lackluster service and subpar food are the main reasons for my negative review. My first dining experience at Feller, about a month after its opening, was fantastic. However, something has since changed. If they want to remain in business, they should pay careful attention to this feedback!

Our party of two enjoyed the smokey egg as our first course, which was served with finely chopped pickled beets. As our main dish, we had the roasted bone marrow, which was rich and buttery, along with Tatanka bison served with parsley root puree, mushrooms sautéed in butter, huckleberry sauce, and baby carrots. The person who had the bison was thrilled and has been raving about it for two days. The salmon was tasty but came in a surprisingly small portion paired with roasted baby carrots. One of us enjoyed three glasses of a delightful Slovenian Pinot Grigio that was a lovely surprise, while the other had a Manhattan cocktail that was perfectly made and came with a generous block of hand-chopped ice. The bartender was Greek and informative, and I appreciated the craftsmanship of the ice. Portion sizes varied; I received a small egg dish, while another person at our table had four pieces of bacon on their plate, along with mushroom toast piled high with thick slices of bread. Everything we ate, and what we observed others enjoying, was rich—it's clear that the chef believes in enhancing flavors with butter and fat. Indulging in such rich food was enjoyable, but I sense we'll need to eat lighter for the next few days to recover. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and we noticed that there were many servers available, all seemingly happy to be there. We felt the service deserved at least a 20% tip. Alcohol accounted for about a third of our bill; next time, if we’re not celebrating a birthday, we plan to order less to keep costs down.

It’s a fantastic place to visit! The ambiance in the restaurant was warm and inviting.
