I visited this restaurant while hiking the West Highland Way in August 2020. When I inquired about vegan options, the chef prepared a list of about five different dinner dishes for me. The vegan breakfast featured vegan sausages, and they also offered vegan butter. Additionally, there was vegan cheese available for sandwiches. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
The restaurant offered separate menus for vegetarian and vegan options, with three dishes available for vegans. I ordered the chili, a bean burger with fries, and carrot-coriander soup of the day. After a long day of hiking, everything tasted fantastic. The staff were very friendly and even inquired if we would like breakfast arranged for us, so the cook could prepare something special. However, when we asked in the morning, it turned out to be a bit more challenging. I felt a bit awkward about it in the evening, as they provided a separate menu again, but when we opted for the full breakfast, they informed us that the sausages were not vegan. Instead, we had bread with almond milk and toast. They also provided butter packets that were made from cow's milk, which we were unable to have.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the various vegan options available for dinner, but I found the breakfast to be disappointing.
