The Coothi - Stirling

The breakfast area is charming and beautifully decorated. It's a great spot for enjoying afternoon cream tea or celebrating with a glass of prosecco.

The menu and food were mediocre at best. The coffee was terrible. I was hoping for better. The staff was friendly, but I do not plan on returning.

Do not be tempted, as the large signs outside the hotel invite you to enjoy a coffee and fresh pastries in their new café which is more like a café that flies in the air! It is a coffee shop type room in the hotel dining area and when we arrived around 10:30 am, although empty, there were still breakfast dishes on a number of tables. Before we sat down, we were asked to sit in the back of a carpeted bar where the exterior door was open, rock music was blaring, and the place was freezing! However, the worst is yet to come in the form of the coffee. You have to be trying really hard to make coffee as bad as this. None of us could take more than a couple of sips. The warm milk with an unidentifiable taste would be a good way to describe it. Unfortunately, we had already paid or I would not have parted with my hard-earned money for this. We will definitely not be returning.

The rooms were large and spotless. The staff was very friendly. My husband was feeling unwell when we realized we needed to extend our stay, and the staff went above and beyond to assist me in getting him some food. They were truly kind people.

The restaurant is in a decent location, but it seems like the quality has been impacted by COVID. The overall appearance is lacking, with leaky roofs and tired rooms. The spa requires some maintenance, but we are hopeful that it will improve. Despite these issues, we will likely return because we love the location.
