Fortunately, we discovered the stylish restaurant downstairs where there were no lines at the bar. The service was exceptionally friendly, allowing us to sample the wine before it was served.
Yesterday, on October 4th, I experienced something for the first time in my life - leaving a restaurant hungry! My 80-year-old mother and I had made reservations at di Sotto (formerly Brasseriet) for a 3-course Opera menu three days in advance. Despite confirming our order via email and text message, we were incredibly disappointed with our experience. Upon arriving at the restaurant before 5 pm, we found more staff than guests. Some wines listed on the menu were unavailable, and after receiving our starters, we waited over an hour for our main course. Just 25 minutes before the show was set to start, we were informed that there would be no food served due to kitchen issues, without any apology or compensation offered. The manager did provide a measly offering of mozzarella and bread, but we were still expected to pay for our wine. This was the most unprofessional and disappointing restaurant experience I have ever had. I will not recommend di Sotto to anyone I know. Tatiana Sjödin, Stockholm.
This place is just amazing! Great food and nice staff. The interior design is beautiful and the food was really good.
The Brasseriet restaurant is pretty classical, which is a plus. However , I must say that I was expecting more than I got. We came here for a pre ballet dinner as it was convenient , since after dinner it is possible to get to the opera from the inner doors. The lady at the reception was not that friendly. Even though the table was booked first she tried to give us the table in the middle of the room with bar type high chairs) even though we were with a 5 year old child and it is obvious that it would not be that easy. However after I made a face , immediately we were offered a better table. Great, but I think it had to be obvious from the beginning especially they were expecting us. Regarding the food , it looks fancy and sounds good on a menu, however the taste is nothing special and a bit blunt. We took the opera menu, it was an OK value and 3 corses, however as I mentioned not so impressive. My personal verdict would be , if it is really convenient and you do not want to spend much time to walk from the restaurant to the opera, OK go for it, but otherwise, there are plenty of better options in Stockholm and in this area.
We enjoyed it very much to have dinner in such a exquisit ambiente. You feel as if you visited the opera house. The interiour is of classical and elegant style. Even the starter goat cheese was created with fantasy. The lamb was excellent. Very good the indication of lactose /gluten.
