Trying to find this place on Apple Maps was difficult because it's not apparent when you're not INSIDE the building. Luckily, we figured it out and had a great lunch before our tour. The Kulturhuset actually looks like a mall from the outside. It's a big building that has a few entrances, and there are escalators inside visible from the outside. There's also a theater inside. Anyway, on the lower level is where Kafé Plattan is located. It looks to be mainly a coffee shop, but it does have sandwiches and desserts as can be seen from the menu. They also have combo meals that include a drink, of which they have a wide variety, and a bag of chips. We opted for the Tofu Banh Mi and the Breakfast Burrito to share. The cooler cases have pre-made sandwiches ready to grab-and-go, so it's not necessary to sit down to eat. Since we were dining there, our food came out on actually plates. The ingredients of the sandwiches are listed near the pre-made ones in the cooler, but the staff was happy to answer our questions seeing as we had never been there before. Both the Banh Mi and Burrito were decent-size and each is enough for a filling meal, including the chips and drink. Both also came with a small side salad, also, I'm assuming since we ate there. It also appeared that our sandwiches were prepared from scratch while we were waiting rather than grabbing a pre-made one and heating it up. This is a great little place that would probably do just as well on its own as a standalone restaurant. It did a LOT of business that we could see while we were eating our lunch. The desserts looked really good, as well, but we didn't try any of them.
Located in the basement of a cultural center, it's very spacious and we found it rather calm. It opens all day non-stop so it's a great place for a short break during the afternoon as well. We got one of the sandwiches and drinks. The banh-mi sandwich was tasty. The staff was friendly, and prices were fair. Not too far from the central station, in case you need to take away before catching a train.
Cozy place with cozy vegan food for Swedish prices. Updated from previous review on 2023-09-07
Great brunch/lunch spot with fresh and delicious options. Great desserts too
I really enjoyed. Got their lunch sandwich combo as well as dessert and some kimchi. No complaints. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.
