He has run many restaurants both in Indonesia and here i Stockholm and his most recent baby Warung is the first restaurant in Stockholm focusing on Indonesian food with Swedish ingredients. Think of it as a mix between world famous establishment Fäviken by Magnus Nilsson, who really focuses on Sweden and our natures pantry, and south east Asia, Indonesian dishes, techniques and flavors. This family/friends restaurant is located in hip area of Hornstull at Södermalm with a bunch of new restaurants and clubs in the area. The vibe is chilled yet modern, its like being invited to someones home! Round tables and dimmed lights! Very cozy! The menu is small but well executed and focused. The thing is to share! You order aprox 1,5 2 dishes/person snd s couple of sides. Me and two friends had all the mains and it was perfect for us! But we were very hungry! We also had all the desserts which are three and the general feeling afterwards were satisfied and full but in that fresh sense you might have after a sushi meal! Great vegetarian dishes which also can be made vegan! My favorite tho was the Ikan Kari, seasonal fish stew cassava root! The dishes are well combined, beautiful and taste like nothing you 've had in Stockholm before! Its really breaking new grounds! You don 't wanna miss out!
The food at this restaurant is excellent and the staff is very helpful. Keep up the great work, guys! I will definitely stop by here next time I'm in town.
But I had the rendang at kungstradgarden. the food was interesting but not really authentic. i guess catered to swedish people.
