The Keg - Stockport

Really great time- delicious food with a varied menu . Excellent bar wait staff- Alex was superb. I enjoyed the local beer on tap, although it was only one .... I might go back tomorrow night!

Horrible experience last night- not with the service, as it was wonderful. The problem was that as I had a direct shot into the kitchen, I observed one of their line cooks using a cell phone and also wiping his runny nose with his un-gloved hand and then go right back to plating meals. I brought this up to the manager. She was very apologetic and comped the salad and escargot I had already eaten, but after viewing the cook, I had had enough. I really enjoy the Keg's I have eaten at across Canada, but I will never visit this one again.

This was a great restaurant/bar stop. We were seated promptly, the environment was classy and warm. The waitress was friendly. The ribs were great. Curling on the TV for good entertainment. Wouldn't change a thing.

First off let's clear something up these are not unreasonable prices for steak. Its pricey, yes, but so is all steak. And it's about time Canadian beef farmers got some coin. Anyways, off the soap box. I stopped in here for a little dinner part and enjoyed a New York strip loin. It was large and tender, cooked medium rare (how I ordered it). The waiter was super friendly and kept stopping by to refill our drinks. It's sort of an upscale interior, connotating fine dining, but still allowing for a t shirt and jeans.

The Keg is undoubtedly the best steakhouse in Regina. I've visited multiple times, and I've never had a bad meal. However, the service can be inconsistent. Once, I had a young server who seemed to be caught up in some drama with a fellow staff member and let her frustration show, which was unprofessional. Despite that, I've always left satisfied and never hungry. I've spent hundreds at a different steakhouse in another town (which rhymes with "diplomat") and haven't had a steak or meal that compares to what The Keg offers. I took my wife here for a steak and lobster dinner, and the server recommended we share the enormous lobster tail special for two. I was blown away by how delicious it was. Just because it's a franchise doesn't mean the food is mass-produced.
