General Washington Hotel - Stockton

We booked a table for four people and requested a window seat, and our request was met. We had a table of six provided at the window on a blustery winters day. It was comfortable and added room to spread out a bit. All enjoyed their meals. I had a beef pot pie with really delicious mash potato and gravy and veg. Couldn't eat it all. Had a coffee after which was very well made..lots of choc on top!Happily go back anytime.

We all ordered blackboard specials, and all enjoyed our meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. The dining area hasn't been refurbished for many years and is drab and bland. Overall it was an average experience.

Was here for a family dinner. Staff well versed in the meals and the seafood was amazing. There is a small playroom for youngies and the meals came out quick. beers are priced well.

Went to this pub for a family birthday get together. They easily catered for our group of 9 and 2 young kids. Friendly and easygoing and the food is good. The specials of lamb sharks and osso bucco was melt in the mouth yummy. The burgers ginormous, a lovely Thai salad and my dad was very happy with his oysters Kilpatrick and chicken schnitzel, better than some of the fancier places.It is easygoing and relaxing (though can be a bit noisy if busy)and the first place you come to off the ferry. Love this place and recommend it.

If you are a Novocastrian this is a pleasant way to fill a day.Ferry ride across the harbour to Stockton, invigorating walk along the harbour breakwall, watch the harbour activity then along the beach, back through the main street of Stockton to the General Washington Hotel for lunch. Located on foreshore near ferry wharf.Daily specials run from $11 to $14 (all very good)We were a group of 12 seniors. Total cost for day $2.50 covers, train, bus and ferry,$14 lunch, say $3.50 drink -$20 expenditure for a great days outing
