Nirvana - Stoke-on-Trent

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I have been a regular customer for many years and have always enjoyed the food. However, my most recent visit was a completely different story. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, the service was extremely slow. It took 15 minutes just to get a menu, and the waitress was not friendly or attentive. The drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, and when our food finally came, my boyfriend received the wrong order. The food was cold, bland, and overall very disappointing. The only positive thing I can say is that the poppadom was nice. Unfortunately, my family and I did not feel appreciated as customers and we will not be returning.

We had expected the restaurant to be busier on a Friday evening, but we were one of only two tables. We have been occasional visitors to Nirvana for a few years now, but this experience was disappointing. The waitress showed little interest in serving us. The food was mediocre, and we noticed that the two main courses looked very similar.

We have visited this restaurant on many occasions. We have always had a good meal and have no complaints in that regard. However, there have been occasions when we have felt that we have outstayed our welcome. On the last visit, we had finished our meals and were sitting at the table waiting for our lifts to arrive. It was not too late, however the background music was abruptly turned off, five minutes later we were told that they wanted to close. We had no alternative other to stand outside the restaurant in the cold and the rain whilst waiting for our lifts. Would it have been any hardship for the restaurant to allow six ladies to stand in the porch until our lifts arrived? Will seriously think twice before visiting again. The site would not allow me to put a rating, but it would have been 3 for service, 4 for food and value.

We dined with a large group of friends, some of whom were regulars at Nirvana. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, but ordering drinks was a bit confusing. The food was flavorful with just the right amount of spice, avoiding the blandness often found in Indian restaurants. The service was quick, but the staff seemed a bit unfriendly, which took away from the overall experience. Nonetheless, it was a good Indian restaurant.

We have been visiting this restaurant for a number of years and have always found the food and service to be exceptional, however on Saturday 24th March 2018 we visited and whilst the food was up to the usual high standards, the service was terrible. The waiter appeared to be nervous, he was clumsy leaning over people with food and to collect dishes, the service was slow and after 15 minutes of waiting we had to ask if we could have a drink! Overall we had a good evening but the service needs to be improved
