Not only was I yelled at and told that it was my fault, but the manager also hung up on me twice. I ended up being charged $50 for food that I never received.
It was a bit difficult to locate this hidden gem of an old Chinese kitchen, but once inside, I enjoyed some delicious traditional dishes. Luckily, Hong Kong City was open and saved the day! The restaurant is not far from where I live and has ample street parking nearby (especially at the beginning of the city). The menu is extensive and offers all the classic favorites. My dining companion and I opted to share a Pu-Platter for one and a large bowl of porridge. The platter was overflowing with teriyaki, egg rolls, pork ribs, crab legs, chicken wings, and chicken fingers - all of which were delicious. However, the rice was a bit underwhelming as it was bland and lacked any additional ingredients like vegetables or eggs. Despite this, the Pu-Platter was outstanding and I would definitely return to try some of their other fried rice dishes for more flavor.
Ordered a combination plate above the phone; gay lo my, orange chicken with boneless reserveribs. the type on the phone was disappointed? okay, eating 10 minutes is fast. go in to pick up very nice lady. get them after home enjoying meal every taste good, but the orange huh, or so I thought they were kicking out! I'm ready to pay for what I ordered, they're just telling me the charge. do not lie to their customers and try to fool them. really sucks to find good Chinese food places.
My friend and I were here a few months ago and decided to order from here again tonight. we ordered an orange-coloured chicken como plate and to share a few appetizers. the gentleman who took our order sounded audible at the fact that all we ordered and then the orange huh didn't have a huh in it. it was all brot / teig in the orange chicken sauce. very disappointed and will probably not order from here again.
If I could give them no stars, I would! I ordered the chicken chow mein lunch special and was very puzzled by what I ended up getting. I ordered chow mein in other restaurants before, so what Hong Kong City deems chow mein was surprising to say the least. Instead of something akin to lo mein with actual noodles (that are fried), I got a small bowl FILLED with bean sprouts and some tiny pieces of boiled chicken. At first I thought they gave me the wrong order, but what I initially thought was an extra appetizer (that some Chinese restaurants would give to customers for free) was actually the fried noodles part. I've tried giving this restaurant a chance, ordering here three or four times, but each time the food was average to awful. This was the last straw and I won't be returning here anymore. Stoneham residents you deserve al Chinese restaurant that serves excellent food, not one that proclaims themselves to be the Best Chinese food in Stoneham. Even if this is the only Chinese food place you've been too, the quality is so bad.
