He ran out of a drink I wanted but this guy made me a cocktail to die for with different fruits and vodka. I practically thank him for running out. Thanks BOSS for a great evening!
My cousin Fred performs at this restaurant. I made reservations for a group of 11-13 people. The reviews were mixed, but Melissa's is fantastic. The food was very good and the service from our waitress was excellent. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again. It would be a great spot for a girls' night out when Haywire is playing. I highly recommend Fred Ellsworth. I also had the chance to meet Melissa, the owner, before leaving. Thank you Melissa for a wonderful experience. And a big thank you to our waitress for being awesome from the moment we arrived until we left.
My husband and I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The steak blue cheese flatbread was incredible, and the veggie option was also delicious. The Filet was cooked perfectly, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The bartender, Trisha, was friendly and welcoming. You won't be disappointed dining here!
I am laughing as I read Michael's review below... he was there the same night as my boyfriend and I. We also had a wonderful date night at Melissa's! We're new to the area and have been meaning to get out and try some of the local flavor. I had the roasted duck which was amazing, and my boyfriend had the shrimp and lobster pasta dish. I could smell the basil coming from his food, everything was so fresh! A must is the pretzel sundae--a pretzel crumble and peanut butter sauce! Delicious! We can't wait to go back.
It 's been said that a memorable meal needs three ingredients: great food, terrific ambiance, and wonderful people to enjoy it with. My eldest daughter took my wife and middle daughter out for my birthday last night--and it qualified hands-down as a memorable meal. The appetizers rocked--especially the asparagus spears and prosciutto wrapped in a kind of phylo dough (who thinks up this stuff? . The crab cakes were as good as you 'll find on Chesapeake Bay. For an entree, I ordered the braised short ribs (a favorite, I was told , and they nearly fell apart on the plate. It 's hard to say which tasted better soaked in the dark gravy: the meat, the freshly mashed potatoes or the perfectly prepared spinach. And the Malbec topped it off. Great to find such a gem--linen tablecloths and napkins, soft lighting, and quiet music you 're only vaguely aware of--so close to home. Wow.
