Comfort Cafe San Antonio

Good place to spend a weekend morning. Food is delicious just don't expect a fast service they are very busy, but is worth the wait... will definetly come back...

Food was incredible! Very delicious and very unique! I had the San Antonio Burger and it exceeded all expectations. Some of these plates they were bringing out had me in awe! The service could have been more attentive, I know a lot of establishments are facing staffing issues, I'm not sure if that was the case here but all in all I definitely recommend Comfort Cafe! Pictured is the iced coffe flight, the Chai was my favorite!

This is by far the best place in San Antonio; the story behind their mission is something we should be doing more of as human beings. Thank you for leading by example! Aside from the fantastic mission and desired end state for the staff, the service is better than that of what you find at so many establishments in San Antonio; maybe because there is a pride in their work. The facilities were maintained better than so many hot spots across this town. The food was on point! The biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash browns were great, and the bacon was a hearty size and towered over the competition. Overall, I loved this place! It was a better experience than Eggspectation, Magnolia Pancake Haus, Fully Belly, Snooze, etc. Bottom Line: I highly recommend and encourage anyone to listen to each persons story, and enjoy and superior dining experience.

So being from H Town I use yelp to see the good places to eat. We decided on this place due to the rating. Think these are the important notes 1. They use the yelp waitlist so put your name on the list via the app IN ADVANCE! 2. The wait staff is volunteers no disrespect. But they are on their own timeline. 3. They do not accept credit cards. It is marked but nice to know in advance. There is an ATM upstairs. 4. There are no prices on the menu just a recommendation on $15 per plate subtle encouragement for more. After waiting a long time to get a table and then an extended period of time to get a glass of water we decided to leave.

I left as a happy customer which seems to be in line with 800+ Yelp reviewers. We got to Comfort Cafe before 8 AM on a Friday knowing how popular this place is. There were 10 of us and we were immediately accommodated within minutes of getting in. The food came fairly quickly and they were all absolutely delicious! I know this because we shared pieces of entrees amongst the group. Our server, Gina, was pretty good. I'd say that the only negative, if you can call it that, was that our glasses of water were not automatically replenished. With that said, I can see why this place has great reviews. They have a story to tell and they take pride in the food they serve. Will I return? You bet!!
