Ordered the mussels, which I didn’t love (flavor just wasn’t there for me and they were a bit dry), and my husband got the pork. The server was very apologetic and made some suggestions of other dishes to try. I ended up ordering lettuce wraps instead, and they were delicious! Highly recommend those as well as the pork main dish. The only problem I had was the music. It’s pretty loud and abrasive since it was just random instrumental hip hop beats on a loop. I might not dine in again, but I’ll definitely get takeout in the future.Dietary restrictions: They have some gluten free options!
We attended an event hosted by the San Antonio Restaurant Facebook group and Camille was the best host for the evening. Everything we tried was excellent. Byt the crispy pork belly stole the show. They did it two ways; as a lettuce wrap with fresh bib lettuce, Thai basil, cilantro, house hoisin chili paste for dipping. So fresh. And their SISIG FLAT BREAD with diced pork belly sautéedwith lime, Serrano chili, and red onion, on naan bread. I also liked the Lumpias with sweet chili sauce. We also enjoyed the marinated, grilled pork skewers grilled on an open flame. If that was not enough they had a sake tasting. I'm not much of a fan of most sake, but the Blossom of Peace sake was very good. It has plums soaked in the sake to add the rounded edge I needed. We will definitely be back and recommend this as a solid place for authentic food. It's called a Supper Club, but you don't have to be a member and can order from the menu for lunch or dinner.Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This would be a great Monday night spot when other restaurants are closed.
I've been going to Sari Sari off and on for a couple months now and over all pretty dang good!Don't let the parking in the front fool ya, there is plenty in the back!Inside is a good atmosphere with nice music, wait staff is always a pleasure to work with and the cooks really know what they are doing (and speedy too!)I usually get the lumpia for an app and it has never let me down. The Chicken Katsu with the curry sauce is very nice and a little spicy but if you want savory go with the adobo sauce. Both are excellent choices! The have a wide variety of beer and mixed drinks as well as non-alcoholic drinks for those not partaking.I did have one issue here where my food tasted like the oil hadn't been changed from the day before so that's the reason for the 4 stars. However, I have eaten there since and haven't had that issue.Over all great restaurant, especially for a date, and the chef special is definitely fun to try but be prepared to eat!Parking: A few spots in the front, a lot behind the building.
I had positive expectations for this place and was very excited to check out Sari-Sari but was surprisingly disappointed. On the one hand, the food did not disappoint. The food was delicious and attractively plated! The atmosphere was pleasant and interesting. The service however, was surprisingly lacking. We were a party of three and the server seemed pleasant enough but when she came over to get the drink orders, she spoke to my sister-in-law, took her order and left. She completely ignored my mother-in-law and me. We were pretty stunned and confused. I thought that she must just be having a 'moment ' like we all have sometimes and when she comes back we 'll let her know that she forgot to take everyone 's drink order. She came back, dropped off the drink and attempted to walk away. We had to stop her to tell her that she neglected to take everyone 's drink order. I expected a reaction of apologetic realization but she simply looked at us like 'hmm, what do you want? ' That was the strangest service any of us had experienced!
Yo I understand why this place is shutting down.Food was so bad. The lumpia (0/10) was obviously frozen cause the meat was very chewy and they weren't even hot when they came out Adobo pork(1/10): yo why the sauce so gloppy and gloopy? The flavor was a miss and the meat tasted off. Was the saddest adobo ive ever had. Again im crying The lechon (0/10): just like their other location, was veryyyyyy hard and dry like a rock. So disappointed.
