We were celebrating a special anniversary and found our server and some of the food fell very short of expectations for a higher end dining establishment such as this. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted (my husband had even called ahead when he made the reso to have a favourite drink ready for us, which was not, and for more context it looked about 3 5 other tables, with the majority of dining room vacant). The soup appetizer we ordered came luke warm almost cold. We tried to make the best of things, but felt that we were never checked on, when we needed drink refills, out of water etc. (I actually had to get up at one point and ask the hostess to send our server). Once we got the entree we were never checked on at all to see how it was, which is unfortunate being a steak meal to check the doneness and the steak was over cooked sadly but with no one coming to ask, my husband just ate it. the server had also suggested us order shrimp (over scallops which We had wanted), and honestly were also overcooked and chewy texture. The server finally came when we were both completely done to ask how things were a little too late in my opinion, especially when ordering a steak at a high end steakhouse you would expect after a few bites to be checked on. I did say some of the food was over cooked and he said nothing, just turned and walked away immediately making it feel very akward zero attempt at resolution. This caused us to cut our dinner short, and ask for the bill immediately instead of getting a dessert and another drink or coffee. So unfortunate, but we will not be coming back. For over a $400 bill, I expect much better service, and what we received felt like a bar that is slammed during a super busy time. It really put a damper on our anniversary celebrations and truly a disappointment with a location that is highly rated and we’ve been before.
I had a wedding here, beautiful location right by the water, and the food was good, plus when I didn't like the dessert they hooked me up with ice cream instead.
My boyfriend and I have been coming here to celebrate our anniversary for the past three years and we always have a wonderful time. Most recently we had Mitch as our server and he was very attentive and provided us a wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend thing place for a fancy night out.
I loved this place. So beautiful...great wait staff. Delicious food.Beautiful place for a private
The facilities itself are extremely well maintained. Beautiful grounds and building. One negative was that the indoor dining area had a good number of flies pestering diners it was like we were eating outdoors. Our server was friendly, courteous and very attentive. Unfortunately, I was expecting a better culinary expereince than what my party received. The food, which took a long time to come out, was good, not great. The vegetables were a tad bit too al dente and the gnocchi were dense and tough. Another member or my party had the lobster ravioli and complained that their pasta was thick and tough. When there was an issue raised with a tenderloin being over cooked (request was medium well, we got well done no hint of pink or squishiness at all), the kitchen must have told our server to challenge us and say to cut into the centre of the steak for appropriate doneness. We did. It was cooked to well done all the way through. The kitchen ultimately relented and asked if they could slice the meat to speed up with cooking a new steak. We said yes. It took 20 min for a new unsliced steak to be produced, by which time the server decided to move the rest of the table onto desserts before the new steak even arrived. Although the restaurant only had at most four tables at any one time, I suspect the kitchen was understaffed, and had challenges managing food production hence a more combative attitude that unfortunately the wait staff had to deliver. I hope this review makes it to the people that can make a difference because for a higher end dining establishment, your restaurant can only go so far with the view if you fall short on the food and the service. You can only be as good as the last meal you've served.
