They also have plenty of non-sushi meals from the kitchen on the all you can eat menu, not just appetizers like some other AYCE places around. The servers were on top of taking empty plates, refilling water, taking our menu selections quickly. Seating is available at the sushi bar, regular tables and chairs, or wooden booths in the back. I am giving 4 stars because the sushi is good, but not the best you will find on Long Island.I had the Haru Maki and Miso Soup to start, both were good... the soup could use more toppings but I enjoyed the broth. My friend had a Kani Salad some Tempura Sweet Potato, she loved both of them. We ordered 2 rolls each to share. I ordered the Fried Island Roll the Mango Hawaii Roll, my friend had the Yankee Roll Captain Roll. I liked all of them except for the Yankee, but I don't like cream cheese in sushi. We got a 2nd round which was another Mango Hawaii, Sex on the Beach, and Phoenix, all of which i loved. My favorite for the night was the Sex on the Beach roll. The fish was fresh, my friend who usually orders vegetable or California rolls actually enjoyed the raw salmon tuna! The only disappointment for me was that they ran out of green tea ice cream becore we had a chance to order desert, but i was so full I didn't really need it.My friend almost didn't want to go because we could not find the AYCE menu online, so I took pictures so others don't have the same problem.
This one star I give to this restaurant is because I have to give at least 1 star. The waiter in the restaurant, a male, is extremely bad and rude. They will give REQUIRED percentage of tips to the customer. They won't do this to all customers but they will do this depends.I went to this restaurant and want some dessert in the middle, the waiter said to us like we caused a lot of trouble, and he will threaten you if you give a low tips.I do not RECOMMEND this restaurant, and no one should go there since we have a lot of all you can eat restaurants are better than this one. At least you can eat with good moods in other place.
We went for a birthday celebration. Everyone loved the sushi and the tempura. 6 of our party ordered the all you can eat items, they were quick to bring food out. We like the set up of the large booths with benches in the restaurant. Even though they bring the food out rapid fire, it definitely doesn't appear that they skimp on attention to detail I'm making the sushi rolls. Beautiful plating.
Fresh fish, great service, cozy environment, and satisfied always. The peppered tuna and seared salmon are top notch! Best way to end a meal with their green tea ice cream that tasted just like real matcha. I love the food here and will always make a return.
This food was not good. I eat at Hoshi in Patchouge frequently, and always have a good experience. I will NOT be back to Hoshi Stony Brook. I was given 1/3 of a small cup of soup in my order, and it was watery and cold. It did not taste like the hearty miso I’ve had elsewhere. Also, the avocado in my sushi was brown and tasted bad. (See attached photo). For such expensive food, they should take more care with the quality of it.
