Our waitress was possibly the most friendly and courteous food service worker I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. When our Entrées came out, the cook (cook) brought it to the table and he was also amazingly personal and cordial. People working here seem really personal interest in customer satisfaction We ordered an appetizer of Queso Cheese Bacon Fries, it is a simple dish, but each component worked well, the pommes were hot and crispy on the outside and delicate inside, the cheese was rich and creamy with just one touch of spice, and the bacon was crispy! For dinner, the southwest brisket sandwich ordered. In real barbecue fashion, the sandwich becomes a real mess on the plate, but the combination of flavors was unreal. Sweet, a little spicy, smokey and spicy. There are three sauce components in this sandwich (bbq, chipotle mayo, and house-slaw so there was a risk that the sandwich soggy and droopy, but the Bretzel rolls that they have chosen kept up to the challenge very good, and the fact that they roasted that they added some really great texture to the sandwich. My wife ordered the Bourbon Chicken and tried to tell you that the chicken is amazingly moist, the skin was made beautiful and the Bourbon sauce was delicious. We both left our sides for a small portion of their Bistro Mac cheese and were satisfied with the taste of the cheese sauce as well as the texture of the noodles (so many places overhauled their Mac cheese noodles, but they were perfect for dinner from Dawn Finally, on the proposal of our amazing waiters, we decided to try their house made Carrot Cake for the desert. The carrot cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting was beyond the apron! If you haven't enjoyed dinner at Dawn yet, you've really disappeared. P.S. Your hours are slightly different than most restaurants, so check out in any case before you drive up there!!!
Super amazing service. Story City is halfway between Rochester, MN and Council Bluffs, IA and my family meet here to exchange people for a visit. The service was excellent and the ladies took extra time to talk to us and welcome us. The food was great! I am vegetarian and enjoyed the Zen salad and my teenage boy (not a vegetarian lol) had the OMG Burger. We both stayed happy!
DbD is a popular hunt for mine for the last 3 or so years. Lunch and dinner are well prepared, imaginative and tasty. The staff is personal and wants to be happy. I would recommend Roast Beef Open Nights, as last night, Prime Rib nights and Valentine dinner. I love having such a place in Story City!
My father and I had lunch in this wonderful restaurant for the first time today. We were impressed by the menu. The smoked salmon salad I had was delicious! Dad loved the special crab maize cat. The Hornbrot was so good. The service was friendly and attentive. We come to Story City once a week and will definitely be over again. What a jewel!
