La Chaine d'Or - Strasbourg

We were shown our seats, but waited well 15 minutes and were not served at all. The service staff were chatting there and even when we asked to take our order, we were aggressively brushed aside. They refused to serve us....horrible rude staff. Never go there!

These are really 3.5 stars. On a very busy pedestrian area. Vibe inside was busy, but old-fashioned. The service was attentive, but robotic. Everything seemed with such a routine Est and totally lacked engagement, Pricey, but fit the bill. We had delicious, though expensive local KIR drinks and apps for our dinner. We started with onion soup, which was moderate and needed a little more cheese and bread. Hubs had a veggie gratinee mushroom), which was small but he said tasty. I had a very boring green salad. I think the French make the best simple green salads... that had nothing to do with it. I honestly believe the left of the disguise, so it was essentially only salad. Meh... only a mediocre, unnoticed experience in a place that is with most tourists and a microphone when a handful of locals live.

We went in because it said “open” at the door. But the waiter shouted us rudely and kicked out saying they are not opened yet. You shouldn’t put the sign to OPEN if you are not fully opened. And we have never seen such a...rude waiter in our life! Worst service ever!

Went here for large lunch and got the price fix menu. There were numerous items to choose from and the food was fantastic! The staff were really pleasant and willing to serve. The restaurant was spotless and tables were set beautifully. I would go back... great value and good food.
