Strasburg Creamery

The Strasburg Creamery offers almond milk swirl ice cream. Despite the soft serve image on the freezer, it is actually a harder ice cream. I tried the pistachio flavor, and while the texture and taste were lovely, it ended up tasting more like vanilla with a hint of green coloring. They also have about five other vegan flavors to choose from. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating options.

I recently visited Strasbourg Bed and Breakfast and decided to stop by a nearby ice cream shop. They offered about six different vegan options, all made with almond milk. I tried the chocolate and pistachio flavors and enjoyed both of them. It was a pleasant surprise to find ice cream made with almond milk instead of coconut milk, which can be high in saturated fat. The other flavors included peanut butter, strawberry, black raspberry, and a few more. I also tried the black raspberry flavor and found it to be delicious. Next door, there was a bakery with some vegan options, including a double chocolate vegan brownie that was absolutely delicious.

The restaurant has not changed their selection of vegan ice creams in ages. I visited months ago and they still offer the same flavors: vegan pistachio, pumpkin, peach, and butter pecan. They advertise a watermelon and chocolate flavor, but they do not actually have it. The ice cream was very cold. I mentioned this to the staff in three different ways, but the lady did not seem to care at all. There was no refund offered.

Update Spring 2023: I went back and they had vegan pumpkin ice cream. I didn't care it was October. When will I ever be offered vegan pumpkin ice cream again?! I stayed at Strasburg Bed and Breakfast and we decided to stop down for ice cream. They had about six different vegan choices (as well as one ton of non vegan choices) were all made with almond milk. I tried chocolate as well as pistachios and enjoyed them both. It is nice to find ice cream with almond instead of coconut that has so much saturated fat. The other flavors, if I remember correctly... Peanut butter, strawberry, black raspberry and a few others. I also tried the black raspberry that was also delicious. There is also a bakery next door and they had some vegan choices, including a double chocolate vegan brownie so good.
