We are locals and hadn't eaten here before, we didn't really know much about it previously to be honest. Will definitely be back, probably could do with better marketing!
Wonderful homemade soup, beetroot and cheese scone with lovely side salad and toasties for the kids. And a great organic coffee to go.
We stopped for lunch here after visiting Hall's Croft. We found the menu options to be somewhat limited, and the dessert choices could be improved. However, the food we did order was tasty and reasonably priced. The only downside was when all the staff sat down, some to fix a broken dishwasher and others waiting for customers to arrive.
Located slightly off the center of Stratford, Halls Croft is not one of the main Shakespeare sights, making it easy to find a table for lunch. They offer a variety of baguettes, sandwiches, cakes, soups, and light meals. The sausage baguette with red cabbage and apple chutney was unique and delicious, a refreshing change from typical sandwich shop fare. The products are locally sourced, including beef from Shakespeare estate longhorn cattle.
We stopped by for a quick drink and some cake at the end of a cold day during a brief trip to Stratford. We had visited this place before and liked it, so we decided to return. We loved the cozy and warm atmosphere as we enjoyed our drinks and shared a selection of cakes. Everything tasted delicious and helped us warm up for the rest of the afternoon. There were plenty of options available, including gluten-free choices.
