Laohaus - Stratford

The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. However, it was disappointing to discover that one of the three soups listed on the menu was not available when I went in to order.

The food at this restaurant is superb. We tried the Nam Tok and Chicken Larb dishes, and both were absolutely fantastic.

Chris and his brother Charlie serve up delicious and innovative dishes. Coming from Scarborough, where Asian and ethnic cuisine options are abundant, I can definitely say that their food stands out.

It's all about the food. There are few places in the city that offer such immense satisfaction for this price! Nam KHao is "the comfort food that I didn't know I was missing in my life" as quoted from a friend of mine, and is she ever right?!?!Add to that the best dirty, delicious burger in town and cheesy uber satisfying poutine and you have a winner every time. Decor and ambiance are inconsequential when the food is this good!

We had a reservation for 6 pm on a Sunday evening, convenient for after a theater matinee in this summer theater city. When we got to the restaurant, there were no customers and a sign on the door said CLOSED. An employee (or owner?) came to the door and said that they were closed because they ran out of food (but he did offer to answer any questions about the menu)! A restaurant (especially one with otherwise high ratings in TripAdvisor), should not run out of food on a Sunday evening.
