This upgraded hotel with restaurant is a nostalgic gem. I have eaten here several times. During a recent trip to the area I called ahead as I had a medium size group of 16. They gave us a well appointed private room. Despite the larger group, they managed the orders well. Many varieties of food tried by the group. The only issue was under cooked fried catfish. Otherwise everything to perfection. Save room for the pie for dessert, very worth it.
I was passing through and decided to stop for a burger and fries. The service was fantastic, and the meal was delicious. I couldn't resist grabbing a slice of pie for the journey, and it was absolutely delightful!
The restaurant is housed in a really fascinating old building. While the menu is simple, the fried catfish was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. The homemade potato salad and coleslaw were delightful, and the pie was absolutely delicious.
This was my first visit, and I had a wonderful experience. The food was delightful, and the atmosphere was calm and unhurried. It allowed us to truly savor the time spent with our family. Our server, Annie, was exceptional—extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. I'm grateful for this restaurant and the moments we shared during lunch. Just be prepared to take your time and enjoy!
