This place, also known as The Bear and The Weekender (because it's only open on the weekends), was awesome. We stopped in last night and found the staff to be friendly and present. Though there seemed to be one waitress it also seemed like the manager (we assumed) was checking in on guests and so was the cook, who delivered our meals. I personally thought was nice because he checked on us later to make sure we liked what he prepared for us. Seems most cooks don't care that much. My husband had meatloaf sliders and their gravy covered potatoes while I had the tri tip steak sandwich (no horseradish sauce) and steak fries. What we had was delicious and fresh. Nothing tasted old, like it had been frozen for or reheated in the fryer. It took a little while for food to come out but nothing ridiculous, it just made it seem like it was being prepared for us. If it's important to you: the place is a little old and needs a touch of TLC (be careful on the stairs into the building because the carpet is ripped), and the staff doesn't wear face masks. It's a place we will go back to on our next trip to or through Strawberry/Pine.
Went there on 16th of October I had the NY Steak which was tender and cooked right, wine mushrooms (added charge) accompanied with baked potato and basic garden salad. Would suggest adding steamed veggies, brussel sprouts or asparagus. My pop in-law had the cod special and he said that it was satisfactory. The Wife and her mom had sliders which come 2 per order. One was the bbq boneless rib slider and the wife had the pastrami. They swapped one each and declared the bbq won out. They both said that the buns were great. Unfortunately, there was only one waitress and she was also the bartender. She did manage to get to check on us throughout the meal but you could see that she was busy. The bar had about 15+ people but the restaurant only had a few tables open, thanks to government control covid excuse.
This restaurant caused me to create a yelp account. To be honest, I usually don't complain and try to go with the flow even when service is a bit rough. However, This place was horrible from the point of entering the facility to finally getting our food 1 hour and 15 minutes later. The staff was more engaged with there frequent smoke breaks on the patio than serving customers. Honestly, save your money and drive to Payson and get McDonald's. About the same quality of food but McDonald's out performs this place all day long. If you eat here, have low expectations!
Came here twice not impressed. First time I had the Cod it was ok. Wife had a ribeye and seemed to like it. Second time had the prime rib it was tough and thin. $23 and came with French fries. $7 more if you wanted a baked potato. Then they charged a service fee to use your credit card. Hardly anyone here only the bar had people. There are for saw signs everywhere so that says something right there.
