Sweet Basil Cafe - Streator

The quality of the food has really declined. We ordered two premium rib dinners, but the steaks were more fat than actual meat. It also took the waitress 15 minutes to bring a box for our leftovers. I'm not sure what has happened to this restaurant, but it seems to have worsened in the past few months.

Sweet Basil was delightful, especially considering its extensive menu. I tried the Chicken Artichoke panini, which came with a side of Chicken Orzo Soup (absolutely delicious!) and golden fries that were hot inside and crispy outside. My husband ordered the chicken with Pesto Mayo and the chicken noodle soup. We were both very pleased with our meals!

Great atmosphere. The food was just okay; the steaks were slightly overcooked, and the fries that my companion had were a bit overdone. I plan to give it another try soon to see if this was just a one-time issue.

I love eating here! The service and atmosphere are terrific! The food is outstanding! They have a full selection on their menu. Also, they have OH MY GOODNESS desserts! I fully recomend the Banana Foster!
