Service was professionall and delivered with a smile. We both had the Avo with poached eggs....delicious, healthy and filling.
The room was comfortable, but the decor was very out of date. The shower was temperamental and the breakfast was abysmal. The weak tea was lukewarm, and the Eggs Benedict I ordered consisted of hard poached eggs with a limp piece of lettuce soaked in cold mayonnaise instead of hollandaise sauce. It was inedible.
Lovely Sunday lunch out at this lovely hotel as I do not eat cheese they did a dish of cauliflower for me all was tasty and hot even the plate the service was top marks
We went here for a family lunch after a walk on the common. Good selection on the menu, staff were friendly. The food was ok.
My family and I visited this restaurant on Easter Saturday for the first time, but unfortunately, we were left feeling underwhelmed. The restaurant was nearly empty as everyone was seated in the garden due to the nice weather, causing the service inside to suffer. Our drinks were delayed and we had to chase down the staff to find out that our order was lost. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive, with one meal coming out first and the rest following shortly after, causing an awkward pause. The club sandwich was disappointing as the bacon was not as crispy as we had requested and the sandwich was lacking in filling. However, despite these issues, the others in our group enjoyed their meals, especially the venison bourguignon. We also had service included in our bill, which we felt was not deserved and asked to have it removed. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for what should have been a special treat for our visiting family.
