When we tried to sit at a table, we were told it was reserved for diners. This seemed to be the case for many empty tables in the pub. Eventually, we found a table in the bar area large enough for our group. Disappointed with the experience, we decided to leave and will not be returning. It's unfortunate because the location is very charming.
I dined at The Bell twice this week. The company was lovely, but I was very unimpressed both times. The steak was tasteless, the chips were undercooked and lukewarm one night, and the gammon was salty and tough the other. It was disappointing that they offer gammon but no pineapple. They didn't have any bottles of prosecco or pinot on the premises. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, which is a shame because it's a nice setting and close to our location. I won't be returning anytime soon.
I have dined at this restaurant several times now and have always enjoyed it. The food and service are very good. I will definitely be returning and would recommend it.
Saw The Bell Inn after a day out at slimbridge, decided to give it a try, on entering we were a bit disoriented and were unsure where to go, but was immediately greeted by the lovely bar lady, who made us feel really welcome, she...asked if we were eating or just drinking, we were unsure, so she sat us at a table, offered to set up a tab and took our drink order while we made up our minds, what a professional making us three guys feel totally at ease, thank you!
The Sunday roast we had today was excellent. The veg was all fresh and well cooked, the roast beef was tender and the gravy was delicious. The pub was really busy but the service was quick and efficient and the food was piping hot! It...was one of the best roast dinners I have eaten in ages. Well done Bell Inn you did us proud!
