My son raved about this place so thought I would try it. All I can say is, that kid has great taste.
Ohana BBQ is my comfort Hawaiian food spot on Ventura Blvd. They stand out among the others because it's Hawaiian dishes with Korean BBQ. Every time my wife and I go , the gentleman who takes the phone orders is also the one ringing us up and he's so pleasant each time. My favorite item on the menu is the japchae with short rib. They're also very generous with the teriyaki and hot sauce which is a plus. Also the wall of celebrities who've dined there is such a great touch!
I have been coming to Ohana since 2005 when I discovered it while working at the deli next door and all I have to say about this place is that it 's the #1 Korean/Hawaiian bbq spot. It 's husband and wife owned and they probably have the same line cooks working ever since I can remember High high quality food and good portions, in my opinion. I know there are complaints about the prices, and with inflation, rightfully so but as a restaurant owner myself, their costs are up as well. The plus side about the cost conversation is that the plates can be easily be 2 meals depending on how you eat. I do get what I pay for here. The owners are authentic and can be nice/stern depending on how you take it but overall, this is a hidden gem as it 's in an abandoned shopping center with a few businesses Try everything! Everything is really top and flavorful
My fiancé used to work in the same area as Ohana and those were the best days when he would bring home yummy dinners from there. The chicken is my favorite. All the flavors of the sides and the chicken and rice go so good together.
