Herc's Greek Eatery - Sudbury

Ordered chicken souvlaki dinners with a piece of baclava. 1 extra garlic bread. $71.00 later we arrived home to eat. Everything had a burnt taste to it, the chicken was dry and full of tendons, potatoes had zero lemon taste, just the worst food I have ever ordered from HERC'S. New cook perhaps or should we blame COVID. The piece of baclava was 1/4 the size it usually is. NEVER again HERC'S, what a disappointment.

The food was fine, but I had better. The price was crazy. I had a small side Greek salad that only had two olive, 2 slices of tomatoes, a bit of cheese and onion. I had pork souvlaki, the meal portion was a good size and I had some baklava I make better at home). I paid way too much money for what was basically a bed of rice a few pieces of potatoes and two skewers of pork.

A tiny portion of Mousakka, a very poor family sized Greek salad (98‰ lettuce with 2 olives, 3 slices of cucumber and a sprinkle of feta cheese. My wife 's souvlaki was adaquate. All for $45?? We felt violated. We were tourists in town for one night only and we ordered with skip the dishes. Maybe we got them on a bad night??? Anyway it was not a great meal. I regret I didn 't take any photos to show

We’ve order many times from Hercs and never disappointed. The food is authentic and the staff is very friendly. I strongly recommend this place!!!!!!

My husband and I chose this restaurant as a treat to our grand kids, ages 12 and 9, who enjoy different culinary experiences. It had been a while since we ate there and were not swayed by some negative reviews. The children were pleased with the selections. Moussaka Combo, Calamari Dinner, Spanakopita, and large Caesar salad. We shared the plates in order to taste everything. The service was excellent. One of the reasons that I am giving this restaurant such a positive review is because it doesn't fit a mould. Yes, the menu has evolved since a few years ago. This is not a chain restaurant. Perhaps some items can be brought back should they be requested. The owner does seem quite approachable. I do regret not having taken photos to share. Next time!
