Absolutely lovely gardens, there is a coffee house there open most days and plenty of seating to allow you to take it all in. It has a pond, gardens, tennis courts and a kids parks as well, thoroughly worth a visit. With a pay and display car park within a small 10 min walk from it it is perfect for picnic and chill out time.
Beautiful walk in the gardens. There is a area for children and the opposite end is little hidden areas with a serene water feature. Lots of seating areas to just take in the surroundings. Toilets (ladies) were however abysmal. No toilet paper and filthy.
We got married in Braintree on 16th July 2022 and went to the gardens to have some photos taken. Very well kept gardens and we got some beautiful pictures to remember the day. The flowers were all in bloom and it was perfect for the occasion.
Braintree and Blocking Park. Firstly, we went there and the gate was open. It was after 5pm. As we entered the gate, a man was leaving. He said we are too late. Then the gate keeper or the park man who closes the park wasn't so far behind. He also said the park was closing soon. Therefore we left. The park was closing soon because it is WINTER. Therefore check before you visit. The more winter it gets, the less time the park will be open. We then came back on a Saturday morning and the park was open. The rides are for young kids up to 13. Any child older will not find the playground old enough. They also have a canteen and toilets. They also have tennis course(HARD TARMAC) and they are for rent. It also has some desks and chairs and some fell trees. Overall, it is a good park and it has some green field where you can sit and relax.
