George's Steakhouse - Suffolk

This restaurant is awesome one of the few solid mom and pop dining venues still left in Hampton Roads. So far, I've had New York strip each time I've been; medium rare. It's always cooked flawlessly, and they get good cuts of beef. Baked potato, and fries are great sides, too. The salads are terrific; fresh, crisp, cool, and dressings are all great. Bread and crackers are customarily served with the salad. The service is wonderful, with friendly, helpful staff candidly providing information on menu. They make themselves regularly available to the patrons during their dinner. Highly recommended spot!

The food was decent, but what truly stood out at this restaurant was the staff and the exceptional service. They treated my family wonderfully!

There are definitely better home-style cooking options in the area. We've visited this restaurant a couple of times to give it a fair chance, but it seems to cater mostly to older patrons who prefer milder flavors and may not want to cook for themselves. I would compare the food quality to something you'd find at a Golden Corral, but with much higher prices. The atmosphere didn’t feel inviting, and although we really wanted to enjoy our experience here, it ended up being uncomfortable, and the food was disappointing on both occasions.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food consistently meets high standards, and the service is excellent. On my recent visit, I dined in and ordered the grilled chicken salad without cheese, which usually comes with feta. The homemade dressing was delightful. I also had a side of fries, which were cooked to perfection. They offer both booths and tables, making it suitable for larger groups as well. It's a beloved local spot—make sure to visit today!

Old school restaurant feel. The crowd is full of suffolk regulars, you can tell just by watching their interactions with the staff. The menu is condensed but has variety. The steak was just okay, a little overcooked but I didn't expect the best steak ever from a place like this. The fries and onions rings are good and filling. The bang bang shrimp however is something I would recommend and look forward to ordering again. The service was good and I just loved the feel of the place. I definitely see myself coming back to try other items on the menu soon.
