Priced at £10.50, the lasagne was dry and unevenly reheated, making it very hard and crunchy in some places. It was not served hot, so I ended up leaving most of it uneaten. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, a staff member approached me and refunded £5, apologizing for the poor quality of the dish. If a dish is not up to standard, it should not be served to customers. Overall, I was not happy with my experience.
I had a delightful afternoon tea on Friday at this restaurant. The cakes, scones, and sausage rolls were all made on site. Being in the baking industry for over 40 years, I am familiar with good quality produce and these items did not disappoint. The scones were light and fluffy, the cakes were moist and tasty, and the sausage rolls were a game changer. The servers were attentive and friendly. In my opinion, this is the best afternoon tea in Suffolk. Well done to the staff, but I believe that they could increase their prices slightly and still provide excellent value for customers.
I had had a busy morning and really fancied a piece of home made quiche. I remembered seeing quiche on the counter during a previous visit. They had a nice selection. I opted for cheese and onion. It tasted amazing. I had a lovely lady called Leoni serve me. I was told the quiche was made by Sarah. It was the best I have had in a long time. Served with salad and new potatoes. Thank you. I shall come again soon.
This was my first time visiting the farm cafe and I had heard great things about it, so my mom, wife, and I decided to give it a try for lunch. The weather wasn't great and there weren't many people in the cafe, so it seemed like a good choice. However, after ordering soup, tea cake, and a toasted sandwich, we had to wait over 45 minutes to be served. It was frustrating when my mom asked about our order after 25 minutes and then again after 40 minutes, only to be told it was coming. It may have just been a bad day, but I don't think I will be returning.
Went strawberry picking with the family. We had a lovely time in fields and thought the price was good value for money. We however stopped at the cafe for lunch and unfortunately that's where the nice time ended. Long wait in the queue to even order food (this was not helped at all by the fact it was one girl serving who was hand writing all the cheques and then manually entering the prices of things off the menu into a cash register). Lots of staff but very slow moving. Food was average for price you pay. This however wasn't my main concern. As a place which sells food and drink your facilities are very below standard. I have a 9 month old baby whom I needed to change. I enquired with the lady in the farm shop as to where the baby change was. She escorted me outside and pointed to essentially what was a shed with a window and no door on the front of it. There was a changing mat balanced on a sort of makeshift table. There were spiders on the ceiling and all sorts of random things lying around. No nappy bin, no where to clean your hands either. I cannot comment on the main toilets as I did not see them but if this is the only baby changing facility you have, it majorly lets the place down!
