A very warm and friendly welcome from the staff, great menu choices, all cooked really well. Thank you to the team at the Queens Head we look forward to our next visit
A lovely setting and a good range of dishes to choose from. The main courses were lovely, including the slow cooked beef, chicken supreme and soup. These all tasted great. Nobody in our group of five had any complaints. The location is a lovely setting, with a log burner and contemporary meets traditional ambiance in the bar and restaurant. This was well balanced. I found it to be a tad expensive. Including, £16.50 for a quiche £18.75 for a chicken supreme. I appreciate that prices are more than just the meal themselves, but still when all things are considered, I found that these prices raised expectations too much and led me to cut back on drinks. A few areas which prevented a five star review: the waitress was very attentive, but needs to relax a little. Be calm and less intense, as she did a great job but was coming across as trying too hard. I personally did not like having a 'dog menu ' on the same page as the ordinary menu. Reading about dog 's dinners put me off selecting my own food. the crumble dessert needed more crumble, as it was mostly filling.
Really disappointing visit. We booked on Friday for 7 people at 6:30pm Saturday evening. I suggested this pub as we came a number of tiles 19 years ago and loved it.We were seated and another table of 9/10 seated after us.They were given priority maybe locals) , we are from Southwold, not seen as locals. We looked at the menu one on the website) and we were really disappointed that the beef dish was all sold out. This is poor organisation on behalf of the management. I heard the young male waiter tell the table of 9 that there were only 4 main menu burgers left and we asked him to book these out for our guests. We then panicked and asked him what else was low and he replied that the beef was nearly out.We then put in that order only to be told by the management that the table of 9 had he last beef. In future, communicate to large group bookings limited dishes before they arrive,so they can decide whether it is worth arriving. Secondly , an hour wait for food WITHOUT any communication to us is poor service. We paid our £200 bill and my friend tipped the waiters who had worked. The management need to go on a hospitality training programme.Shocking.
Yet another amazing meal at this gem of a restaurant! The food never disappoints an excellent selection all of which is exceptional quality and delivered with some of the best customer service we have ever received. Definitely worth a visit if you love your food!
I wrote a review over a Month ago after my first vist. Since then l must admit to frequenting the Queens Head for often than her in doors would like!! The Queens Head is infectious, so be warned!! In a good way. Exceptional young staff very efficient, polite and welcoming. I have now eaten here on three occasions now and already booked for futer events, themed evening. My wife and l have very much enjoyed our three meals that we thourerly enjoyed. This included Sunday Lunch and a excellent Fish Night that offered a platter of a selection to Fresh Fish and Sea Food. This is a regular event and is held on the last Friday of each Month. Sorry for my over excitement, visit and you will experience something Different and l am sure you will enjoy your Experience Add to the above with a great welcome from Landlords Kevin, Kate and the locals. Such an overall great experience. Booking is essential. Dennis
