Kyoto has a great lunch deal with two rolls and a soup for less than $10. The restaurant is clean, has great service, and is ADA accessible with to-go parking outside. FYI the omayashi soup is spicy. They can make it without mushrooms for you which I appreciated, but I wish I’d been more prepared for the spicy component. If spicy is not your thing or you’re asking, how spicy is spicy, just order the miso soup instead. I wish the sushi had been more cold. I ordered the yellowtail roll and the salmon and avocado roll. I’d definitely eat here again if I lived in the area.
Our server Savannah was very attentive as our waitress but i felt bad for the other patrons because their other staff was not as well trained? Please refer to the photos. We arrived at 1245pm and were seated immediately. We started with drinks and appetizers. My wife and I had Arnold Palmers and some pan fried gyoza as well as steamed ademame. We then ordered our sushi and entrees. We had the shaggy dog, mardi gras, and princess rolls, and shared the yaki soba. The portion sizes were a bit large but very flavorful. The sushi rolls were great flavors. The princess was different than expected i think due to the soy paper instead of standard nori. It didnt take away anything from the roll but it was a different texture profile. The mardi gras was as wonderful as its name however it was a very large piece of sushi. It was hard to eat in a single bite as traditional sushi should be eaten. The Shaggy dog was exceptional with the fresh jalapeños. Things i didnt care for were the numerous televisions. They really take away from the ambiance and almost gave it a bar feel instead of a nice upscale Japanese restaurant. Over all i cant go above 3 stars due to the staff. If my review was solely on the food its a 4.5. We will consider dining again, possibly during a dinner service when the young people are not so idle. Thank you and Please feel free to check out all my other reviews.
As impressive as the interior is, and the number of locations they have I expected at least good food. I ordered the chicken katsu. The miso soup was watered down. The katsu was not seasoned, and the sauce was just thickened worcestershire sauce. I was accompanied with a small cup of rice (the same sized cup the soup was in), and when I asked if I may have more, I was told it would be a $2 extra charge. I substituted the garden salad with squid salad, it was an extra charge but a good sized portion. The squid salad was the best part of the meal, but also most likely out of a jar from the Asian market. For the price and quality of food it is awful.
If you want to eat and enjoy some great family entertainment this is your restaurant. I love watching the chief toss shrimp or make a train from an onion. The sushi was fresh, and the table was very satisfied. All entrees order were amazing. I will return on the next family event.
