The Temperance Society - Summer Hill

Temperance is a great local place to meet with friends for a drink and light snacks, or pre or post dinner drinks. It is very popular and gets very busy so sometimes finding somewhere to sit can be tricky but if you are prepared to be patient you'll usually find a seat. Good wine list and spirits available. Decorated in a lovely art deco kind of way, big comfy lounges upstairs, bookcase lined walls with all sorts of books, and it has a lovely atmosphere. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a few extras to the snack menu - it is very limited. Even something as simple as home cut chunky hot chips, or roasted smashed spuds would be great. Overall though, a great place with a great vibe.

We popped in for a couple of G&T's nice gin nice big class with plenty of ice just how I like it. Friendly staff we went upstairs which is tiny and they have to shut the balcony doors at a certain time wuch can make it very warm. Overall a nice place for a nice drink

Looks good 'on paper', but in reality, on the night that we visited we were confronted with a space that was overly crowded, deafeningly noisy and with service a challenge to come by. We left after 30mins having not managed to score a seat, a drink, or a complete sentence of conversation with our companions.

Great little place in the heart of summer hill. Great beer, staff were friendly and the atmosphere is pretty cool. Give it a try
