Larry's Giant Subs - Summerville

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The only positive aspect was the friendliness of one male employee. The food was not fresh and the portions were small, prompting my husband and me to add more veggies and condiments at home. We felt unwelcome due to the staring from both staff and customers. We will not be returning.

I am giving this restaurant 2 stars solely based on the quality of their food. However, this restaurant is poorly managed. I ordered two sandwich platters for a work event and paid for them a week in advance. On the day of the event, they had not even started preparing the order when my colleague arrived to pick them up. This delay caused our meeting to be delayed by over 30 minutes. The staff member was unaware of the order and the owner did not return my calls. The food was decent but the management was terrible.

Foods good, and most all of the staff is too. The problem is that hours are comically erratic. In no exaggerated terms about 50% of the time I've gone there within their operating hours they are closed with no explanation. Recently, I went two days in a row and they were inexplicably closed early both days. The hours of operation need to get updated because this is a consistent enough issue that the hours posted are false advertising. And if you have a staffing issue that you can't manage to fix in a year's+ time, you shouldn't be operating a business.

I went to Larry's Giant Subs in Summerville, located in a strip mall near Midland Parkway off Old Trolley Road around noon. The place was crowded when I arrived. I ordered a small corned beef and pastrami sandwich on rye with onion, tomatoes, and peppers for $7.29. Unfortunately, I found the sandwich to be overpriced and underwhelming. The bread seemed a bit stale and looked like a mixture of pumpernickel and rye, not doing justice to either flavor. For the same price, I could have gotten a decent salad at Subway.

We are from western NY and live here now. We found Larry's Giant Subs to be the absolute best for SUBS... excellent sub rolls, nice and doughy, and always heavy duty and delicious. Summerville and Goose Creek locations are both excellent. We Highly Recommend
