Went on a Saturday night to Nexton with my 2 under 2 kids. Was told there'd be a 20 minute wait and I was texted abt 20 min later that table was ready. Always happy when the estimate is accurate. I ordered chips and queso. I'd say this was the most disappointing portion of our order. The chips are homeade but a little too thick (read:hard) for our liking. Especially with my almost 2 year old. The queso was just ok. It was missing something flavor wise, besides the hint of spicy. I always expect to have a few flavor profiles but it kinda just tasted like melted spicy cheese. I order the 3-taco platter with the birria, americano and baja fish. The platter comes with rice and beans. I had their beans years ago and resolved to never order them again. But these were AMAZING. I could taste the cumin and other spices. I ate my husband's share, too. My birria was ok. The protein was cooked a bit too hard but the dipping broth was yummy. The baja was really good, fried a bit hard too. The americano didn't disappoint at all. Overall really enjoyed. Rating 4 outta 5 for the chips and queso and overcooked proteins.
The chicken tortilla soup tastes like vegetable soup. Service was slow considering how few people were here. I've brought multiple family from out of town here, but there are better taco places around. The nachos are HUGE and the tacos are really good. I'll be back but I'm never all that excited to come.
This was a recommendation from our hotel and we were very excited about eating there. I love the decor but there were many problems with our experience. This is not the cleanest food establishment I've ever been in. When we we seated, it took a while to even have someone come to our table, which was in the corner on the upper level. The server was very preoccupied and not really with us. We ordered and it took forever.....finally they came back to tell us they had a big party that had tied up the kitchen and the food would get there soon. As a professional chef, this line of excuses always makes me mad as all the blame is put on the kitchen staffs backs. Many times the real reason is the error of the servers to put the order in a timely manner or because of a mistake they made in placing the order and the order had to be remade. But, back to this story, our food finally came and it was awful! I only ordered beans and rice, both were not even warm. This restaurant doesn't give you chips and salsa but if you want it you are charged for them. I would have expected warm/hot chips (they were not) and especially because we waited so long for our meals, maybe a refill on the appetizer would have been a nice gesture. No such luck! Also, the portion size for each dish was tiny but the prices were overpriced for the value. Very disappointing experience. To top it off, when we tried to pay so we could get out of there, the server stated the wifi was acting up so it took even more time for them to figure out how to make the machines work so we could pay. The saddest part is we were still hungry with the appetizer portions we received so we ate at another restaurant later that evening.
Brunch here and it was quick seating, friendly service, easy menu. The options offered are some personal favorites from my country so I was eager to try flavor is good the chilaquiles could use 2 more eggs queso fresco and aguacate but that's just us. The huevo rancheros was soggy so tortillas were mushy flour mess but taste was good but again more eggs vs 1 and queso fresco less soggy would be great for us but after using some chips from the other order it was great. Servers were friendly and very clean location will be back ????
