Fausto Coffee - Sunderland

Last time at Beacon, our wonderful barista Alex served us once again with a smile and some friendly conversation, along with the most delicious coffee. It's unfortunate that it's closing down, as we will surely miss it, but we are excited to see them move to Aquatic now.

This restaurant is a fantastic place for families to enjoy a coffee on Sundays and for the run club community to gather on Wednesdays. The staff is friendly and welcoming!

Just had another fantastic visit to Fausto's today. I went by myself, but at Fausto's you never feel alone with the friendly staff and customers. The food was delicious as usual (highly recommend the flatbreads) and the Malbec was exceptional. I also highly recommend their coffee. Overall, a perfect 10/10 experience.

Fausto has always been a firm favourite with me, my family and friends. I have been many times as we live in the area. I'm not sure what happened today, but we ended up leaving after being spoken to very aggressively by a member of staff after we asked if our order would be with us soon. As it happened the till had ran out of till roll it seems and so when this particular senior member of staff had asked if any orders had been missed she was apparently not told our order by other staff. I only know this as we were berated by the staff member like we had something to be sorry for?! So in front of my two young children we were shouted at for not having received our order as the order hadn't been passed to the kitchen. Another member of staff, who is always lovely whenever we've been in before, obviously mortified at what was going on....as were we by the way, told staff to give us a refund for the food which hadn't appeared. I very calmly told her that this was not really what should have happened today and I didn't wish to be spoken to in such an aggressive manner. She apologized profusely and offered a voucher. Unfortunately, by this time we just wanted to get out of there quickly, so as not to be shouted at further or upset the absolutely disrespectful staff member any further. Feeling very let down by Fausto today.
