They weren 't closed when I called last week to inquire about indoor dining. There was no information concerning this closure on their web site or on their Facebook page (which is NOT kept current). This place is not reliable concerning hours of operation. Don 't waste your time going there.
Don 't waste your time with this place. Their hours of operation are sporadic and they give no advance notice of closures. A small group of us drove over an hour today to have lunch there, only to be greeted by a sign on the door stating Sorry, we 're closed. Nothing about the closure on their web site or their Facebook page (which they don 't keep current).
Lots of good food, check out the daily dessert specials
Very friendly silver dollar burger was excellent! Tried to stop by for lunch the next day but was closed. No explanation.
I only give 5 stars because I was the little girl, who lived in the cottage behind the silver doller from when my grandpa (previous owner Richard Prigmore) bought the business in 92 shortly after I was born. I have so many fond memories of roaming out in the weeds, picking up pieces of petrified wood and other random things i could find. Surrounded by the environment and tons of animals i always felt at peace there. It was my home. Some people may even remember seeing a little girl riding her tricycle around the red booth area inside the establishment as well as around it.. that was me. My grandpa would always tell me when I die, all of this is going to you . I would imagine myself being behind the grill as he was, cooking and serving back and forth. Everytime i make burgers i think of him. When he got into the car wreck that eventually took his life, nothing was the same. Some things are nostalgic and for some people keeping things the same is a MUST,which is why I 'm so happy to see that the petrified wood entrance is still there (last time I checked). The whole place burned while that remained and I can 't help, but feel like it was ment to stay there... for me. I will always love this place and the memories it 's given me. However,I can 't bring myself to even go inside without crying. It 's too different for my heart to take. If anyone remembers anything positive about the place when Richard was running it (granted I know he was a very stubborn and at times a rude old man) I would be so happy to hear your stories. All of my childhood belongings burned in the fire that took the original cafe that spread to the mobile home where he lived (where my stuff was) and the white cottage where my mother and I lived.
